This press clippings and video of a burly Afghan commander are in sharp contrast to what narrative we are trying to build and what the Afghan side believes of the mess that we created on this side of the divide.
It is an open secret that Pakistani economy is dependent on foreign aid especially US dollars that mysteriously disappears the moment it is borrowed including the billions worth remittances that overseas Pakistanis send home. It is an open secret that every flight that leaves Pakistan carries US dollars as this trade is the safest and most lucrative in which most of the influential high officials indulge, a fact already in the knowledge of the law enforcers.
It is so shameful that Afghanistan being a country that fought 40 longs years of wars against two super powers and still under the International Economic embargo do not have a penny worth of debt rightfully ridicules us to be a country under heavy debt where its cunning rulers are waiting for an excuse to surrender and leave the debt for others to pay while they act as victims of Taliban aggression and trying to live off another round of the Western handouts, while we try to find excuses to blame others.
I doubt if our elite comprising both of civilian and military leadership can afford living a day to serve Pakistan and fight for her revival from its present nearly dead economic state, when they are not paid their salaries and when they are denied their opulent perks and privilege that commensurate Arab Shiekhs of the oil rich Middle East used to lavishly spending never worry either to earn or save for a rainy day.
