ISLAMABAD : August 26, 2022. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has fixed hearing of contempt case against Pakistan Tehreek – e -Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, and two other senior party leaders for August 30,2022.
Other PTI leaders,; who are facing contempt case of ECP included Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhary.
A 5-member panel of ECP will hear the contempt case against PTI top leadership. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) , Aftab Sultan Raja , will head ECP panel for hearing of the contempt case
PTI chairman , Imran Khan, and a few other PTI leaders have been critical to ECP. Imran Khan has consistently been accusing CEC of biased towards PTI and demanding him to step down from the office.
Imran Khan had accused CEC of colluding with his political opponents to fix his party in foreign funding case .
After 8 long years, ECP had given its ruling in PTI funding case around one month ago
ECP ruled in foreign funding case that PTI got funding from unlawful sources and later hid its details from it.
PTI leadership has been served notice in foreign funding case. Side by side with foreign funding case, ECP is pushing forward contempt case against Imran Khan and at least two other senior party leaders.
The PTI is facing serious cases. Its chairnan is on interim bail in terror case till September 1,2022.
In a related case, Imran Khan is also facing contempt case for hurling serious threats to a lady judge and senior police officials of Islamabad police .
The question arisis why PTI chairman is inviting troubles for himself and his party by using threatening language against the judges and senior police officials of Islamabad police?
Will PTI chairnan pause for a while from using objectionable ok language like Maulana Diesel and so on and think such derogatory language is not on olny tarnishing his image as a political leader, but also making Pakistan’s politics and culture prone to adulteration.
Imran Khan should get aware of the real objectives of his hawkish patty leaders, in particular , Fawad Chaudhary and one man party –Shaikh Rashid .
