End to illegal engine unions must : Says Mirza Abdul Rehman

FPCCI former coordinator wants strict action against illegal engine unions

Islamabad : Mirza Abdul Rehman, former Chairman Coordination FPCCI, Vice President of the Federation of Chambers, and Founder President of the Attock Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that a few self-interested leaders—who neither run any significant business nor have any presence in the tax network—join hands with certain vested elements merely to gain cheap publicity and earn their livelihood. For this purpose, they resort to blackmailing government institutions, creating unrest and chaos among shopkeepers in the markets.
The Director General Trade Organizations should take immediate and strict action against such baseless engine unions and organizations.

At present, chambers, associations, and trade bodies already exist at the city and district levels, which are actively playing a positive role in protecting traders’ interests.
Every legitimate trade body is affiliated with SECP, FBR, and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Pakistan. These organizations have executive boards, hold regular and transparent elections, have duly elected office bearers, and maintain authorized staff. They are also linked with national and international economic development institutions, contributing to both domestic and global economic growth.
