LAHORE : September 15,2022: In a major development , England cricket team has arrived in Pakistan after a hiatus of 17 years to play a T20 series of matches with Pakistan.
England cricket team landed in Karachi on Thursday. It will play 7 T20 matches in Pakistan . The first T20 will be played between Pakistan and England in Karachi on September 20, 2022. Both teams will play matches in Lahore and other cities of Pakistan.
English team was received by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on arrival at Karachi airport.
England team’s visit to Pakistan for T20 series is a good omen for cricket and Pakistan will definitely be its beneficiary . The England cricket team’s visit to Pakistan will encourage other cricket teams to come to Pakistan and play cricket here.
Pakistani cricket fans are extremely jubilant over England team’s visit to Pakistan.
Mohammad Wasif, a Lahore -based cricket fan, expressed great joy over England cricket team’s visit to Pakistan . He said ” Pakistani love cricket and coming of England team is a great news”.
Last time , England team played in Pakistan in 2005. After 17 years , England team has landed in Karachi again.
England was scheduled to play a series of international matches in Pakistan last year, but it pulled back after sudden withdrawal of New Zealand team from Pakistan on security reasons .
After an Indian sponsored terror attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore in 2009, foreign teams had denied to come to Pakistan citing security problem in Pakistan. Since 2009, Pakistan is playing international cricket at a nutral place.
