Experts call for need based policy to foil cyber attacks in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD : Aslam Hayat, Senior Policy Fellow LIRNEASIA; Partner HaYat and Noorwala; Former Head Telenor Pakistan Regulatory Wing said that Pakistan’s cyber security policy does not match with the current needs. He described the indictors for success of any policy to check status, execution plan of policies and capacities development with legal structures of Global Security Agenda. He further mentioned the framework, overreaching principles, and good practices to focus on policies. Pakistan rank 79 in global cyber security Index. Pakistan needs to invest in capacity building of cyber security human resource. He talked about the National Cyber Security policy needs to be strengthen through identifying right risks and challenges, establishing trust in digital transaction to improve Pakistan’s ICT ranking for the implementation and follow ups through stake holders.
