* Fairy Tale Legends *!!

Each personality in the vintage photograph dated back to 60s in Naran valley have legends in their own right. Brig Hissam Uddin El Effendi, grandson of Ghazi Sardar Ayub Khan of Maiwand by his eldest son Sardar Abdul Qadir Khan Effendi with his two sons Podger El Effendi and Vicky El Effendi, who together left indelible mark on the Polo’s history, as a sports in the international arena , along with the young nature loving doctors, made its way back to the family after half a century, all due to kind courtesy of Honourable Dr. Amjad Hussain with whom I recently crossed my paths at the Peshawar Museum .

I asked my eldest son Aisam Effendi, as the reason behind the nature always attracting me to itself that he replied “Genetic Impulsiveness”, that I agreed with him.

Dear Asim Sahib,
Enclosed are two photos taken at Lake Babusar in Kaghan in 1960.

Your uncle and his family had come to have lunch with us at the lake where were camping. Please pass on these photos to your cousin Poger (?spelling).

Most Respected Sir,

I am extremely touched and indebted for your thoughtfulness to have shared these beautiful images of Uncle Hissam, Aunty Mary, Cousin Podger and Vicky. I will certainly share these with them, both being US based, where you are currently based.
Closing with profound respects,
Asim Effendi

Dear Cousins,
Hopefully you are keeping well. These two historic family pictures are forewarded as received from Honourable Dr. Sayed Amjad Hussain, a cardiologist by vocation and historian par excellence by avocation, whom I recently met on his book launch at the Peshawar Museum.
Closing with ith fond regards to you all.
Asim Effendi

Thanks for this, Asim. Actually one of the doctors in the first photo sent me these shots some time ago.
I understand that the once serene Kaghan valley and Naran in particular, is now overbuilt and dirty. Will we never learn to think out of the box as Switzerland, Norway,Sweden and others have done: town development coupled with sanitation management?
