ISLAMABAD : August 31, 2022. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR ) has set a new record of tax collection by collecting Rs 489 billion tax in August 2022.
The FBR provisional statistics of tax collection released on Wednesday showed that FBR collected Rs 6 billion extra to its target of Rs 483 for August 2022.
The FBR had collected Rs 448 billion in August last year.
The FBR released refunds Rs 37 billion in August 2022.
The FBR’s highest ever collection despite less imports and zero petroleum levy in August 2022 is a healthy sign for Pakistan.
FBR has been tasked to collect over Rs 7.03 trillion taxes in the current fiscal year.
