Federal govt orders probe into use of KPK resources for PTI Islamabad rally

Interior Division forms 3 -member inquiry committee for investigations

Islamabad : October 6, 2024 : The federal government has decided to probe the use of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) resources for Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Islamabad rally and constituted a 3- member committee to investigate who ordered for the use of provincial resources for October 4 Islamabad rally. The Interior Division issued a notification for inquiry committee here on Sunday.

Rafiq Mukhtar, a senior official of Interior Division, will head the inquiry committee. Its other members included Munir Masood Marth, a senior PSP officer and an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer not less than a grade 20 officer. The committee has been assigned the job to investigate how many and of what type of government vehicles were used by Gandapur government for PTI rally held in Islamabad.

The committee will also ascertain which authority had allowed the use of public resources for PTI rally led by KPK chief minister , Ali Amin Gandapur. The committee will also probe how many employees of KPK government participated in the rally and who permitted them to join it. The committee will also identify the planners and strategists and find out to fix up responsability for their actions , particularly , becoming a party for the use of KPK public resources for PTI rally. The probe committee will submit it report to the competent authority within 7 days. PTI had organized a public rally in Islamabad on October 4 last .

Since PTI is in power in KPK its chief minister , Ali Amin Gandapur, led a big number of people to march on Islamabad . Ali Amin Gandapur government reportedly made massive misuse of KPK resources for his party rally. Ali Amin Gandapur ‘s rally was accompanied by heavy machinery like lifters, trucks , dozers and vehicles reportedly owned by KPK government. Besides the Alleged use of KPK resources, a large number of employees of the Gandapur government also physically participated in the PTI rally. Those who were arrested in Islamabad on the day of rally included KPK police officials and employees of other departments of the KPK government.

To have a proof , the federal government has also seized dozens of official vehicles which were reportedly illegally used by Gandapur government for PTI rally. The federal government can dismiss Gandapur government if the allegations of the use of KPK resources for PTI rally are proven true. _
