Islamabad (Newsman): The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Director General for Humanitarian and Development, Ms. Melinda Bohannaon, met with the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue.
Alongside Ms. Bohannaon were Mr. Louie Dane, Senior Economist, and Ms. Jo Moir, Development Director. The Finance Division’s senior officers were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Federal Minister briefed the delegation on the government’s program for structural changes and stabilization.

He listed important projects, such as the federal government’s rightsizing, the privatization program, pension changes, and state-owned enterprise (SOE) reforms. He pointed out that FY 25’s first-quarter tax collections (YOY) rose by 25.6%.
Ms. Bohannaon affirmed FCDO’s complete support and expressed gratitude for the government’s extensive reform initiative.
The World Bank (WB) and the Federal Minister also discussed the forthcoming ten-year Country Partnership Framework, which Pakistan would be the first nation to join.
He underlined that the framework would tackle existential issues like child stunting, population increase, and climate change, highlighting the government’s dedication to sustainable development.

Both Ms. Bohannaon and the Minister acknowledged the significance of taking a proactive and responsive stance towards reforms. Ultimately, the minister also underlined the necessity of persevering to guarantee that the reform efforts have a long-lasting effect and support Pakistan’s long-term social and economic advancement.
