Islamabad : June 5,2024 : A case of snuggling of children especially small baby girls to the United States has hit Pakistan. The main accused of the network is a trustee of a Karachi based Welfare Trust The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case of child snuggling against Sarim Burney , one of the trustees of Burney Welfare Trust Karachi. According to the media reports , Sarim Burney , who presents himself as a human rights activist , is main accused in the case. The media reports also claim that Sarim Burney smuggled more than 20 kids to US in just last one year and among these snuggled 20 plus kids , 15 were female kids. Information available on Google shows Sarim Burney is a Pakistan human rights activist . Sarim Burni ‘s profile suggests that his target audience were overseas Pakistan , particularly , American Pakistani . The FIA has started investigations into Sarim Burney’s case . The details appearing in the local media suggest that Sarim Burney was investigated by US authorities during his recent visit to that country . FIA may seek help from US for thorough investigations in the case. The record of Burney Welfare Trust shows the spouse of Sarim Burney is also a beneficiary of the trust . On the basis of Burney Welfare Trust , FIA may register a case against Sarim ‘s wife for assisting his husband in alleged smuggling of kids to US.The FIA will investigate for how long Sarim Burney and his associates were doing unlawful trafficking of small kids to US . Other matter which FIA will investigate as if Sarim Burney and his wife were involved in child trafficking or their network has other members. FIA has traced a case of buying of a female kid by Sarim Burney through his associates for Rs one million and trafficking her to US. FIA has investigated the parents of the sold female kid and later trafficked to the US who informed to the investigators that they sold their female baby to Sarim Burney for money . These confessions have established that Sarim Burney has used his trust –Sarim Burney Welfare Trust– for buying of kids and then trafficking to US . FIA has to go deep in this case . The investigators must dig out the entire network of Sarim Burney . They should also investigate for how long Sarim Burney was involved in this nefarious activity and what was the fate of those innocent kids to whom he trafficked to US or other countries.
