KARACHI: No doubt corona played havoc not only in Sindh, but also with entire Pakistan.
However, the way Sindh government used this pandemic in the name of restrictions it literally destroyed businesses, in particular, and life in the province in general.
From the day one of virus outbreak, the traders and industrialists doubted intention of Sindh government. The representatives of different traders bodies and industrialists associations had been accusing Sindh government of intentionally destroying businesses and industrial activities for making corona a source of corruption.
NEWSMAN investigation confirms Sindh is in the grip of corruption and plundering for the last at least one decade.
The Pakistan People Party ( PPP) is ruling the province since 1988. In the last three decades, the ruling party has turned Sindh into a graveyard of businesses and industrial activities.
The present face of PPP has done everything which protects and promotes the culture of corruption in the province. Since all landlords (Wadairas), Syeds and Pirs had preferred to be a party to PPP nobody could challenge its plundering and loot.
The Mutehida Qaumi Movememt (MQM) , second political force in Sindh, also had identical idealogy of making money no matter if it counts on killing of the people .
The law and order situation had gone so worst in Sindh that the international ranking agencies labelled Karachi among the most dangerous cities of the world.
This culture of corruption and loot rose to peak in Sindh with the passage of time. For years, every Tom and Jerry of PPP is making money by misusing his/her official position.
Seeing unbridled corruption and endless loot by the ruling party , the administration of the province also joined the band. Its officials started to make money their real mission of life.
The result was obvious, the entire province literally went to dogs.
If you go through Karachi and other cities, one thing will become obvious that corruption ripped through entire system in the province.
There is not a single department where one can see merit or fairplay. You can take example of education. The most significant departmemt in nation building has turned into a stimky gutter. You can see students using cheating in exams, leakage of exam papers is a routine matter in Sindh now. The situation in other departments of Sindh is even worse.
The looters club of Sindh, used corona to make even more money. It fixed rates for traders and industrialists to do businesses or run mills in corona restrictions.
The money making game may have continued if National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had not intervened in last meeting to open up businesses and undustrial activities besides easing other corona related restrictions in Sindh from August 9, 2021.
