Five FIA officers penalized over corruption , poor investigations

Islamabad – An orderly room meeting chaired by Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Riffat Mukhtar Raja, has resulted in departmental action against several officers found guilty of corruption and poor investigation practices. A total of five officers were awarded various punishments.

According to details, two inspectors and two sub inspectors posted in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore zones were dismissed from service on charges of corruption and substandard investigations.Additionally, a female inspector was demoted to the rank of sub-inspector for failing to conduct proper investigations.

Speaking on the occasion, DG FIA Riffat Mukhtar Raja stated that there is no place in the agency for officials involved in corruption, negligence, or poor investigation.He emphasized that a strict accountability process is underway to purge the institution of corrupt elements and black sheep, while effective measures are being taken against those engaged in unlawful activities.

The DG further remarked that only a transparent system of accountability can ensure the eradication of human trafficking and corruption.He warned that negligent officers will be awarded exemplary punishment to safeguard the agency’s credibility and integrity.

According to the FIA spokesperson, this action marks a significant step toward strengthening internal accountability mechanisms and promoting transparency within the organization.
