Flag hoisting ceremony: Pakistan day celebrations in Riyadh

Riyadh — The Embassy of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia organized an event to commemorate Pakistan Day. During the ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador, Ahmad Farooq, hoisted the flag and delivered a speech emphasizing the values of “Faith, Unity, and Discipline,” as per the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The event was held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and was attended by diplomatic officials, as well as officers from all three branches of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.

During his address, Ambassador Ahmad Farooq highlighted that Pakistan came into existence after significant struggle and urged the nation to progress following the principles of faith, unity, and discipline.

He also praised the talent and diligence of the Pakistani people, who are making their mark worldwide. Additionally, he expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers, stating that the day is not far when Indian-occupied Kashmir will gain freedom.

The ambassador also noted the strengthening and steady growth of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations.

Messages from President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were read aloud during the event by diplomats Zulqarnain Cheena, Shafiq Ahmad, and Muwahid Kayani, respectively. The ceremony’s proceedings were skillfully conducted by the Head of Chancery, Mohsen Saifullah.
