ISLAMABAD, October 17,2024: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will stage nationwide protests tomorrow (Friday) demanding the release of party founder Imran Khan and all detained workers.
In a message to party supporters, Gandapur stated that protests will be held across the country following Friday prayers. “We are not allowed to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, and we will hold a protest for his release,” he said.
Chief Minister also expressed that the protests will oppose a constitutional amendment the government plans to introduce in parliament. “We will protect the constitution at any cost,” he asserted.
Earlier, the PTI’s political committee called for the release of several detained leaders, including Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, advocate Intizar Hussain Panjotha, Azam Swati, and the president of PTI Balochistan.
The party has urged regional organizations to conduct peaceful demonstrations at district headquarters after Friday prayers.
