Gandapur Highlights KP’s Commitment to Educational Advancement

Peshawar: Ali Amin Gandapur, chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stated that the current provincial government is implementing a well-thought-out plan to advance the education sector in a contemporary manner, focusing on providing high-quality education to students, particularly women.

He said that an important component of this approach is the Alternate Learning Pathways (ALP) program.

42,644 students are currently receiving formal and informal education from 1,267 centers located across 27 districts of the province as part of the ALP program, and 62,000 students have already finished their studies there. He went on to say that the primary goal of the ALP program was to give children who are not enrolled in school and are too old to be enrolled in official schools educational choices.

He stated that the administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been working on the introduction of an education card, giving the province’s backward areas and combined districts priority.

The Chief Minister went on to say that in order to raise literacy rates in the schools of the combined districts, female students are receiving a monthly stipend.

He gave a speech during the Elementary and Secondary Education Department’s graduation ceremony, which was held at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar. Students, instructors, government representatives, representatives from partner organizations, and provincial cabinet members Faisal Tarakai, Maj (Retd) Sajjad, Syed Qasim Ali Shah, and Zahid Chan Zeb were present at the ceremony.

Students who successfully finished the ALP educational cycle received certificates from the chief minister. Sixty-two thousand students have benefited from the ALP program, with 14,487 students finishing their study under Package E alone.

“To ensure that no child has to sit without proper seating arrangements, the provincial government has also decided to provide desks and chairs in all government schools,” the Chief Minister said in his speech.

He emphasized that the state is responsible for giving children access to education, and the province administration will do everything to fulfill this responsibility effectively.

Gandapur said, “Our primary goal is to provide people with access to quality education and healthcare, not just to construct buildings. School construction takes time; hence, we have developed a policy to start schooling in rented buildings immediately to avoid delays and ensure that children’s time is not wasted.”

He emphasized that the provincial administration is giving females’ education particular priority because educated mothers can create an educated nation.

He told them that if they wanted to achieve in life, they should respect their parents and teachers and work hard since there is no alternative to hard effort.
