RAWALPINDI ; Dec 4,2022: On the fourth day of the ongoing Test match between Pakistan and England in Rawalpindi, former Army Chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa came to Pindi Stadium.
The former army chief came to watch the match today around 2 pm along with his family. Strict security arrangements were made on this occasion.
General (Rtd) Bajwa watched the fourth day of the match between Pakistan and England at Pindi Stadium. Qamar Javed Bajwa also praised the performance of both teams during the match.
General (Retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had recently retired from the post of Army Chief and handed over the command of the army to General Asim Munir.
This is the first time after retirement that former Army Chief General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa has come to watch a cricket match at the stadium. Earlier, he had watched the match at the stadium as the Army Chief in 2019.
As the Rawalpindi Test between Pakistan and England entered the exciting phase, the former Army Chief came to the stadium to watch the match.
After taking a 78-run lead in the first innings, England declared their second innings at 264-7 and set Pakistan a target of 343 with four sessions to go on Sunday. Seven batsmen scored centuries on the pitch.
The home side ended the day on 80-2, still 263 short of their target, with third-ranked batsman Azhar Ali unlikely to bat again after suffering a finger injury.
After watching the match for about two hours, the former army chief left the stadium with his family.
