Govt agrees to form commission to probe threat letter : PTI rejects it

ISLAMABAD : The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) led coalition government of Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday agreed to constitute an inquiry commission to probe the letter the former government of Imran Khan has been calling as a US sponsored conspiracy hatched to dislodge his government .
Information minister , Maryam Aurangzeb, announced the government decision to constitute an inquiry commission to probe the authenticity of the alleged conspiracy letter . She said the commission will be independent to probe the matter and make its report public . But the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) rejected the government offer outrightly and demanded that the commission constituted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) that would hold open proceedings into the conspiracy letter would be acceptable to his party.
Former Information minister , Fawad Chaudhary, in response to his successor , Maryam Aurangzeb’s press conference also held a conference here and declared that PTI would not accept any other commission as announced by the incumbent government to probe the threat letter . He said the PTI demands constitution of an independent inquiry commission of the judges to probe the threat letter .
The threat letter is dominating Pakistan’s politics for the last couple of months. PTI is depending on the threat letter for its politics and using it to muster maximum public support to dislodge the new government of coalition partners . The incumbent government , on the other hand, is calling the threat letter as a pack of lies and struggling to keep hostile PTI at the bay to delay its demand of holding fresh general elections in the country.
Fawad Chaudhary sees bad days in the country if the PTI demand of fresh elections was not met.
“The situation will worsen if the elections were delayed in the country”, Fawad hurled unveiled threat to the government during his press conference.
