Fertilizer dealers shut down business in Punjab as authorities show indifference to APFDA strike

LAHORE : Feb 25,2023: The Punjab government has not moved to address the grievances of the fertilizer dealers as the strike of the All Pakistan Fertilizer Dealers Association (APFDA) enters in fourth day.

APFDA is on strike since February 23 against what it calls as ” blackmailing and harassment of the officials of the Punjab Agriculture Department (Extension).

APFDA pattern -in -chief , Ghulam Ahmad , spoke to NEWSMAN on the issue on Saturday . He said APFDA will continue to go.on strike against anti business attitude of the officials of the Punjab Agriculture Department (Extension) till its lawful demands were not met. Mr Ghulam Ahmad said ” The fertilizer dealers were facing extremely difficult situation in the Punjab and it forced APFDA to shut down the business of the fertilizers in the province and go for indefinite strike.

APFDA had given a call of strike in the Punjab against unending harassment of the Punjab Agriculture Department (Extension) authorities.

On the call of APFDA , the fertilizer dealers have shown great unity and shut down their fertilizers sale business in the Punjab.

The dealers strike has created a difficulty for the farmers as they are running from one sale point to another in search of the fertilizers to use in their farms.

Indifference shown by the officials of the Punjab indicates the bureaucracy is not interested in addressing the grievances of the fertilizers and it may force the APFDA to extend its strike to other provinces in the near future.
