Govt, PTI on collision course for Islamabad rally today

Interior minister gives PTI unveiled warning for Islamabad rally

Islamabad : October 3,2024: With an announcement of Pakistan Tehreek-e -Insaf (PTI) that its plan to stage protest at D-Chowk on October 4,2024 (Friday ) is final the authorities have moved swiftly to block roads at all entry points of the federal capital to stop the protest at any cost.

On Thursday evening, Islamabad administration started to block every major entry point of Islamabad by installing containers. It once again turned the federal capital into a city of containers . In recent times Islamabad has witnessed massive use of containers to seal the city for foiling political rallies of the opposition. The preparations to deal with PTI protestors show the government mood clearly .

The blockade of entry roads of Islamabad with containers show the government is going to use full force to foil PTI protest scheduled for October 4,2024. Interior minister , Mohsin Naqvi’s warning to PTI that there will be no leniency for its protestors if they tried to what he subbed as ‘ Attack on Islamabad ‘ has set a tone for Friday’s abnormal showdown. PTI is determined to go ahead with its protest in the federal capital on Friday come what may and the authorities are getting ready to curb the PTI protest at any cost . Hard stance from the both sides has set a dangerous stage for Friday’s showdown.

If things go ahead on Friday as it is and none of PTI and government retreats it will not bring any good news for Pakistan. Pakistan is currently hosting president of Malaysia and just less than a couple of weeks its going to host Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). Malaysia prime minister is now in Islamabad on his on 3-day official visit and heads of states or heads of the government including Chinese premier are going to come to Islamabad to attend SCO conference schedule for October 14 and 15 here.

Although Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazal (JUI-F) chief , Maulana Fazalur Rehman , has appealed to PTI to reschedule its rally announced for October 4, 2024 , but his appeal may not convince PTI to review its rally plan. Interior minister , Mohsin Naqvi’s suggestion to PTI that it should avoid doing politics of chaos seems hardly impressing PTI leadership as for as its Friday’s rally is concerned.
