Islamabad : On Sunday the match for final clash of T20 would cup began with high claims from the captains of India and New Zealand.
Both were pretty confident that their respective teams will offer the best game as it was a final show off for them for the final of T20 world cup ,2026.
But these claims as far as New Zealand was concerned proved here as verbal utterances. India outclassed New Zealand side to claim easy win over New Zealand and become T20 would champion. Two basic moments could be referred as turning points in New Zealand defeat. One , New Zealand captain ‘s decision of fielding after winning the toss proved extremely wrong. Had India won the toss , it would have definitely opted to bat. Indian captain , SuryaKumar , clearly said when he was asked to comment by Ravi Shastri over losing the toss and made to bat first. He said ” We are happy to bat first as his batters are in good form they can put good total on the board and his bowlers can defend decent total”.
New Zealand instead offering India to bat first should have opted to bat first. New Zealand lost a good opportunity to bat first and then try to curtail INDIA below the target.
Second , New Zealand could not take timely decision to take off its fast bowlers when Indian top batters like Abaishak Sharma , Thomson and Kishan toss every ball for four and six in first 6 over of the game. New Zealand captain kept watching thrashing of his bowlers that helped India to have a blistering start with 90 runs in first power play.
Actually , New Zealand had lost the match in the first power play. The Indian top batting line kept contributing to take India ‘s total score to 255 in 20 overs.
Throughout the contest New Zealand was never in the game.
New Zealand had no “Bumra” to restrict opponent bowling side to rearosct to a fighting score. Bumra showed his best class in the final to pave way for India’s big win in T20 world cup final.
Indian side proved by having comprehensive 96 runs win over New Zealand that its team was literally the best in this short over game and it deserved to win T20 final to become the first country to become T20 world champion for third time..
