ISLAMABAD : Interior minister , Rana Sanaullah , on Wednesday hinted at arrest of former prime minister, Imran Khan, and his entire cabinet .
Speaking to media along with Law minister, Azim Nazir Tarar, Rana Sanaullah said Imran Khan and his entire cabinet could be arrested . The Interior minister ,however, did not divulge other details of the cases on whose basis the new government could arrest ousted prime minister, Imran Khan, and his cabinet .
Law minister, Azim Nazir Tarar , went one step backward on the issue of cases registered against the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leadership in Pakistan on the basis of an unfortunate incident that PTI organised last month in Saudi Arabia. Soon after incident of protest against some federal ministers at Masjid e Nabvi last month , the police had registered the first information report (FIR) against PTI top leadership in different cities. Shaikh Rashid Shafiq, nephew of former Interior minister , Shaikh Rashid Ahmad, was arrested early this month on his return from Saudi Arabia in the same case. Now after getting negative response from the public and even from the ruling coalition partners, the federal government is distancing itself from the cases registered against PTI leadership on the issue.
The Law minister said the government was looking into the cases registered in Pakistan over Masjid e Nabvi incident.
Meanwhile, Finance minister , Mifta Ismael , held Imran government responsible of current economic meltdown of Pakistan. In his statement , Mifta asked a volley of questions from former prime minister, Imran Khan. He said the former prime minister should tell the nation as to why Farah Goghi , a friend of his spouse, Bushra Bibi and his close advisor , Shahzad Akbar , ran away from Pakistan after fall of PTI government . He also demanded of Imran Khan that he should inform the masses as to how sugar , flour and many other edibles became cheaper after dismissal of his government. Mr Mifta claimed that PTI government accepted some demands of International Monetary Fund (IMF) against the national interest . He also held Imran government responsible of putting Pakistan into debt trap.
