Imran Khan appears before JIT, denies charge of terrorism

ISLAMABAD : Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek. e Insaf (PTI) chief, Imran Khan, has shown up to the joint investigation team (JIT) to record his statement in terrorism case .

PTI chief appeared before the JIT here on Wednesday and recorded his statement in terrorism case.

Imran Khan stayed with JIT for 20 minutes and defended his position in terrorism case .

The JIT handed over 20 questions relating to his involvement in terrorism for threatening district session Islamabad on August 20.

Imran Khan had threatened the lady session and district judge , Zeba Chaudhary , while delivering a speech to a public rally organised in Islamabad on August 20 last to protest against arrest and alleged torture on Shahbaz Gill , PTI leader and his chief security officer (CSO).

Shahbaz Gill was arrested in sedition case for his this action.

Since Shahbaz Gill is a key man of PTI and close political aide to Imran Khan , PTI reacted sharply to the government move to protest against his arrest .

Imran Khan himself used extremely provocative language while addressing the public rally organised to express solidarity with Shahbaz Gill on August 20,2022. Imran Khan directly targeted the lady judge who had extended physical remand of Shahbaz Gill.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) took its strong notice and issued notice to PTI chief of contempt of court for using threatening language against the judge.

Meanwhile, the government booked Imran Khan in terrorism case. It formed a JIT to probe the case. Imran Khan originally avoided to appear before the JIT. However , after the last hearing in the Anti Terror Court !ATC), Imran Khan probably decided to appear before the JIT.

The JIT has sought reply of its questionnaire from Imran Khan in a week. The JIT findings will be presented before the ATC in next hearing fixed for September 20.

Imran Khan spoke to media after appearing before the JIT. He termed terrorism case against him as a joke .
