Imran Khan found involved in corrupt practices as PM: says ECP panel decision . PTI says decision shameful . Gives calls to public for protest

ISLAMABAD : October 21,2022:. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday disqualified Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman z Imran Khan , in Toshakhana reference case for five years.

A 4-member ECP panel headed by chief Election commionser , Raja Sultan Sikander, announced the unanimous decision pertaining to disqualification of Imran Khan.

The ECP, in its decision , said PTI chief , Imran Khan, was involved in corrupt practices as prime minister and he grabbed precious gifts given to him by various foreign dignitaries during his visit to foreign countries.

Imran Khan’s decision of taking away of costly gifts lgiven to him by important dignitaries like a precious watch given by Mogammand Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia from Toshakhana against the rules created uproar in the media that was encashed by his political opponents to paint his image as corrupt ruler of Pakistan .

Other than the watch gift, Imran Khan also took away many other precious items from Toshakhana without following the rules.

Most of precious items taken away by Imran Khan as prime minister were sold out by him in the open market .

On the basis of items taken by former prime minister and PTI chief from Toshakhana and later selling them in market to make money became a base to file a reference for his disqualification by his political opponente.

The ECP’s decision said Imran Khan has been found involved in corrupt practices as prime minister and hence stood disqualified for violating the rules.

The ECP further said the case of corruption be investigated against PTI chief and he stands disqualified as member of the national assembly.

PTI, as was expected , has given sharp reaction over disqualification of Imran Khan .

Fawad Hussain Chaudhary , PTI senior leader, told media soon after ECP decision that his party was expecting this what he termed as a shame decision from ECP in Toshakhana case. He claimed ECP decision of disqualification Imran Khan a slap on the face of 220 million people of Pakistan. He gave a call to the masses to come out and throw down shame institutions like ECP to protect constitution of Pakistan.
