ISLAMABAD: August 25, 2022: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Thursday granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, till September 1, 2022.
Judge, Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan, of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) granted bail to the PTI chairman in the case against a surety of Rs 0.1 million and directed to the police that the accused should not be arrested till expiry of the interim period.

Babar Awan advocate, counsel for Imran Khan, argued for bail of his client before the court. He pleaded before the court that his client was a former prime minister and head of a popular political party and the government was fabricating fake cases against him without any having formal evidence .

Babar Awan Advocate pleaded in his argument that none of three officials mentioned in the first information report (FIR) were petitioner rather a magistrate was a petitioner in the case. He further argued that a case under section 7 of Anti Terrorism Act was registered against his client just for uttering a few words of having shame. He said his client was victim of revenge and the case in question has been registered against him on the same reason.
The court after hearing the argument granted interim bail till September 1, 2022 to Imran Khan in the case.
The request for bail was submitted before the ATC on Thursday prior to arrival of PTI chairman at the ATC.
On arrival of PTI chairman Imran Khan, tight security arrangements were made around Federal Judicial Complex (FJC) building to provide fool proof security to avoid any untoward incident. The Islamabad police and the Rangers were deployed outside FJC for security purpose.

Imran Khan showed up in person before the ATC along with other senior party leaders.
Prior to appearing before the court, PTI leaders had given a call to its workers and supporters to take to the streets in case Imran Khan was arrested in terrorism case.
A case of terrorism was registered against the PTI chairman for threating a female judge and senior officials of Islamabad police in a public rally last week.
