Iran shrug – off threats , appoint Mujtaba Khamenei as new supreme leader

Islamabad : Iran’s selection of Mujtaba Khamenei , son of assassinated supreme leader, Ayatullah Khamenei, as a new supreme leader has set a new tone for the United States (US) and Israel. His elevation is also a loud and clear message to the entire world that Iran will not take US president , Donald Trump , and other opponents seriously and rather go by its system.

US president ,Donald Trump, had repeatedly warned Iran that he will not accept Mujtaba Khamenei as its supreme leader. Israel went even further warning Iran that it will chase down Mujtaba Khamenei if appointed as Iran’s new supreme leader. US and Israel wanted a soft man as top leader in Iran to make sure that Tehran prefers good relations with them.

Iran has simply shrugged -off these threats and picked-up Mujtaba Khamenei as successor of his father to lead the country in these war times.

US and Israel had targeted Iran’s supreme leader , Ayatullah Khamenei , last week in their early airstrikes .

Mujtaba Khamenei ‘s appointment as Iran’s supreme leader has a loud and clear message for US , Israel and other opponents that Tehran can go its own way.

Mujtaba Khamenei’s appointment as Iran’s supreme leader is likely to fuel – up the on-going war in the Middle East (ME). Iran’s new top leader has been selected through a Council of experts procedure and his appointment will strengthen Iran’s present ruling system. Since Mujtaba Khamenei is a hardliner and he enjoys great influence on Iran ‘s Revolutionary Guards , Tehran could prefer fight against US and Israel over any negotiated solution to ME war.

Mujtaba Khamenei was born in 1969 in Mushed , Iran. He enjoys reputation of a practical man and a hard liner.
