ISLAMABAD, November 4, 2024: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to visit Islamabad this week as part of Tehran’s diplomatic efforts to engage with regional allies in the wake of recent Israeli airstrikes.
This diplomatic mission follows a significant escalation of hostilities, with Israel launching attacks on October 26 that resulted in the deaths of four Iranian soldiers.
The strikes also targeted military installations in Iraq and Syria associated with Iranian interests, marking a notable intensification in the ongoing conflict.

Israel’s military actions are viewed as retaliation for what it describes as provocations from Iran and its affiliated groups. On October 2, Iran executed a large-scale missile assault on Israel, firing nearly 200 projectiles in response to the Israeli assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on Iranian soil and the killing of Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah, a key ally of Tehran.
In a recent address, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning to both Israel and the United States, vowing a “crushing response” to their actions against Iran and its allies. Khamenei’s remarks were made to students just before the anniversary of the 1979 US embassy takeover in Tehran, an event that entrenched the adversarial relationship between Tehran and Washington.
