Is Sindh exempted from vehicle registration?

On the wheels
Yaqub Malik, a senior journalist, was travelling in his car on Highway near Sukkar where he spotted a white color Corolla car which instead of displaying a registration number was showing only ‘ SINDH POLICE’ at the space designed for display of a proper legal number plate. The display of word ‘POLLICE’ raises many questions. Foremost, its acknowledgement by the SINDH POLICE of Sindh province that it gives least preference to honour of law and hence to the state of Pakistan. Second, this behavior of Sindh POLICE suggests the department was a sign of terror and it needs not to follow any law of the land.
Our colleague who is also a law abiding lawyer took the display of ‘POLICE’ on a private Corolla car with a surprise. He wrote his surprise rather displeasure and noted “ I found a vehicle on National Highway near Sukkur on way from Nawabshah to Multan the other day, Apparently, some police officials were travelling in the private car which displayed ‘SINDH POLICE’ probably to hide the identity. The use of word ‘SINDH POLICE ’ is a major question mark on the credibility of the concerned law enforcing agencies and other departments. This illegal act shows anybody can go to any extent in this country to disrespect the rule of law and the concerned departments keep preferring ignorance instead taking action against such law breakers.
