LAHORE : (July 2,2022) . Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former Finance minister, Ishaq Dar, is likely to return to Pakistan from United Kingdom (UK) after 5 years on July 17, 2022.
Sources close to Ishaq Dar told NEWSMAN on Saturday that Ishaq Dar has completed all arrangements to travel to Pakistan on July 17, 2022 and take oath as a member of the senate .
Mr Dar has become a member of the senate in 2020, but since he was not in the country he could not take oath as a member of the upper house.
Ishaq Dar had left Pakistan for United Kingdom in 2017 in Shahid Khan government for ‘treatment’ purpose . After even five years no body knows exact nature of Mr Dar’s ailment.
His departure from Pakistan ahead of general elections in the country in 2018 was widely criticised by the opposition .
Ishaq Dar is considered a confident of Sharif family and he always remains a major target of the opposition for accountability. The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) too intended to bring Ishaq Dar back to Pakistan from UK for investigations in various corruption cases but it failed to achieve the goal as UK has not repatriation treaty with Pakistan for mutual handing over of any wanted person. Ishaq Dar like PMLN supermo , Mian Nawaz Sharif opted to reside in UK for the same reason. With change of regime and coming of PMLN in power in Pakistan , Ishaq Dar has been advised by Nawaz Sharif and replace Miftah Ismail who has not shown his mettle as a Finance minister.
After five years , Ishaq Dar decided to come back to Pakistan a few weeks ago. His announcement to come to Pakistan was opposed by some of top party leaders like former prime minister , Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Mr Dar , however, gave a shut up call to those party leaders who were unhappy over his homecoming by telling them that he was coming to Pakistan on the orders of the party supremo , Mian Nawaz Sharif .
Mr Dar is expected to use his magic as a Finance minister to pull Pakistan back from the on-going economic crisis. He had deliver in the same capacity in Nawaz Sharif rule, but now Pakistan’s economic challenges are much bigger and of complex nature .
However , PMLN top leadership is pretty confident that Ishaq Dar will deliver again and sort out issues relating to Pakistan’s through quick fixes.
