JEDDAH: A dignified and colorful Independence Day celebration was organized in Jeddah by the Pakistan Investors Forum and Pakistan National Unity Forum, with the participation of officers from the Pakistan Consulate, representatives of various political parties, office-bearers of the forums, and a large number of members of the Pakistani community.
Deputy Consul at the Pakistan Consulate Jeddah, Fareena Arshad, was the chief guest at the event. Addressing the gathering, she congratulated the participants on Independence Day and said that the occasion was not merely a celebration of a national day, but also an opportunity to remember the historic struggle and sacrifices that led to the creation of Pakistan as an independent and sovereign country.
She said Independence Day reminds the nation of the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the immense sacrifices made by our elders, and the determination that paved the way for the establishment of Pakistan. She added that the Pakistani community living abroad is one of the country’s most valuable assets. Overseas Pakistanis, she said, are serving as ambassadors of Pakistan around the world and promoting the country’s image through their hard work, integrity and positive conduct.
Deputy Consul Fareena Arshad also congratulated the organizers for arranging a beautiful and impressive Independence Day celebration.
Chairman of the Pakistan Investors Forum Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood and Acting Convener Chaudhry Tasawwur Hussain also addressed the gathering. They extended Independence Day greetings to the participants and highlighted the significance of the Pakistan Movement, the struggle for independence and the establishment of Pakistan.
Pakistani children presented colorful tableaus to national songs, which were warmly appreciated by the audience. A Pakistani singer also performed national songs, further filling the atmosphere with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm.
At the conclusion of the event, special shields were presented to prominent members of the community in recognition of their valuable social and community services.
The participants also offered special prayers for the security, progress, prosperity and well-being of Pakistan.
