JEDDAH : A dignified flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day. A historic photographic exhibition highlighting the life and legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was also organized on the occasion.
The ceremony was led by Consul General of Pakistan Syed Mustafa Rabbani and attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani community. The national flag was hoisted to the strains of the national anthem, while special messages from the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister were read out.
Addressing the gathering, the Consul General highlighted the significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan for their sacrifices and struggle for the creation of the country.
A photographic exhibition featuring around 100 rare and historic photographs depicting the life of Quaid-e-Azam and various stages of the Pakistan Movement was also inaugurated during the ceremony. The exhibition offered visitors a glimpse into the historic journey that culminated in the creation of Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the progress, prosperity, peace, and security of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
