JI women wing protests for arrest of culprits of motorway rape case

RAWALPINDI : Jamaat Islami (women wing) district Rawalpindi staged protest outside the Rawalpindi Press Club here on Saturday against motorway rape incident and demanded arrest of the culprits without any delay. The leaders of the protesting JI women wing called upon prime minister, Imran Khan, to take immediate steps to arrest the culprits involved in this heinous crime.

Zubeda Khatoon, member central shura, Nuzhat Bhatti, Kausar Perven, niab nazmaat northern Punjab, Rukhsana Ghazanfar, nazima district Rawalpindi, Samia Ali, nazima city district, Nuzhat Natiq, press secretary  and other women wing members of Jamaat Islami Rawalpindi district participated in the protest.

Addressing  the protestors, Zubaida Khatoon condemned the incident of motorway rape and demanded death sentence for the culprits. She said protection of the women is prime responsibility of the government and  PTI government should fulfil its obligation of protecting human lives, respect and property. She said its also prime responsibility of the government to establish a peaceful and honourable society in the country where everyone should have protection of life and livehood. Zubaida Khatoon said the government should provide justice to the victim and her family and fix up those who were involved in this hateful act of raping a women at motorway.

Nuzhat Bhatti deplored the incident of the motorway and said the incident established that now women were not safe at motorways. She questioned the credibility of law enforcing agencies and called upon them to take practical steps for protection of women and kids. She said those involved in such detesting act should be given exemplary punishment.

Samia Ali said the motorway incident is extremely painful. She said it was duty of the JI to express solidarity with the victim of the incident. Samia vowed to keep voicing against such heinous crimes.

Nuzhat Natiq said JI will protest against the incident at every forum across Pakistan. She demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
