Noor Maqadam case: Main accused Zahir Jaffar gets death penalty

Two accomplices Jan Mohammad, Iftilhar get 10- year term. Jaffar's parents exonerated

ISLAMABAD: A court of additional district and session judge, Mohammad Atta Rubbani, on Thursday announced verdict in Noor murder case here, awarding prime punishment of death penalty to Zahir Jaffar, main accused and 10 year term to Jan Mohammad and Iftikhar.The court set free parents of Zahir Jaffar. The court had reserved the judgment in the case on Tuesday last.
After the judgment, Shuakat Maqadam, father of the victim, expressed satisfaction over the court judgment . He thanked media in particular social media for standing with him to support his case in the court . He said today’s the court decision would save lives of others daughters.
Noor Maqadam was killed by the accused Zahir Jaffar , a man in 30s visibly addict after having differences with the victim in his house over some petty issue in July last year. The accused showed such a dangerous level of brutality that he chopped off head of the victim and latter connived with his accomplices to dispose off her dead body.
The parents of the accused had also connived with their servants and workers of a rehabilitation centre for deleting the evidence of the murder of the victim.
Noor’s murder had sent a wave of shock to the society. Every individual in the society had taken it as his/her own case and lamented it. From civil society to households everyone in the society had demanded prime punishment for the accused to stop such heinous crimes in the society in the future. The victim tried to save her life by jumping through the window of the room where Zahir Jaffar was torturing her, but his guard foiled her attempt by shutting main gate of the accused’s house in F-7 sector.

    His parents should have been punished for their role, they got off because of their influence with lawyers and judges.
