Kakar govt hits hard on inflation-hit Pakistanis , pushes petrol , diesel prices up irrationally

Islamabad : Feb 1, 2024: In its last week in the office , caretaker government of Mr Kakar has given a deadly blow to the commuters, in particular, and the public at large in general by pushing up petrol price by Rs 13.55 a litre. It also revised upwards diesel price by Rs 2.75 per litre. With a big increase of Rs 13.55 , the price of petrol has jumped up to Rs 272.89 per litre and with addition of Rs 2.75, the rate of diesel per litre increased to Rs 278.96 . The new rates of petroleum prices will remain effective for 15 days up to February 15,2024.

Since Pakistan is going for elections on February 8, 2024 , Kakar government took it its obligation to make deadly attack on the public by pushing up petroleum products irrationally before leaving its office. The new petrol bomb will add to miseries of inflation -hit Pakistanis.

An official handout issued here late night on Wednesday said, the government has decided to bring changes in the current prices of petroleum products during the fortnight starting from February 1, 2024, as recommended by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The prices of petroleum w.e.f. 01-02-2024, will be as follows:
