KARACHI : Jan 2,2023: Pakistan and New Zealand are facing off each other in 2nd test match being played by them in Karachi.
On day 1 of the second test , New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first .
New Zealand ‘s openers made impressive show and gave a good opening stand to their team. At tea break , New Zealand had made 240 runs score and it had lost only one wicket.
Pakistan ‘s spinners , Agha Salman and Ibrar Ahmed put New Zealand in spin and managed much needed breakthrough by bowling out Daven Convey for 122 runs . He faced 191 runs. D Conway’s exceptional performance with bat put the guest team in a good position at the end of Day 1 game in second test.
Pakistan ‘s Agha Salman bowled out three wickets and Naseem Shah bowled out two players of New Zealand.
At the end of day 1, New Zealand was 309 for 6 wickets .
New Zealand crossed 300 mark on first day of day 1 of second test .
Pakistan side will like to get all New Zealand players out as early as possible on day 2 of the second test match.
New Zealand has lead against Pakistan in 2 matches test series . In the second test being played in Karachi, Pakistan would like to perform better and equalise test series.
Earlier , England had whitewashed Pakistan in test series recently.
Pakistan XI would not like to face the similar situation against New Zealand .
