JEDDAH: A prestigious iftar dinner was hosted in honour of Sardar Javed Ayub, the Minister for Forests, Wildlife, and Fisheries, by Sardar Waqas Inayatullah, former Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Community Overseas Jeddah and Convener of the Pakistan Solidarity Forum. The event was organized to congratulate the distinguished guest on performing Umrah and visiting the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).
The gathering was attended by a large number of prominent members of the Kashmiri community. Addressing the occasion, speakers highlighted how the Kashmiri community, through relentless hard work and dedication, has established a distinguished position for itself in Saudi Arabia, rendering notable services across various sectors of life.
The chief guest was informed that for the past 19 years, individuals from different groups and schools of thought have remained united under the platform of the “Jammu & Kashmir Community Overseas.” The primary objectives of this forum are to raise a voice for the Kashmir cause, resolve community issues, and struggle for the right to self-determination of the oppressed Kashmiri people. Participants noted that the forum has had the honour of hosting renowned Kashmiri leaders, including the late Syed Ali Geelani, Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Shabir Shah, among others.
Furthermore, this platform has hosted numerous political and social personalities, including the late President and Prime Minister Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, former Prime Minister Sardar Atique Ahmed Khan, and Chaudhry Yasin. The services of Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry were also paid tribute to during the event.
During the iftar dinner, detailed discussions were held regarding ongoing development projects in Azad Kashmir. Participants specifically deliberated on projects such as the Ratthoa Haryam Bridge and the Mirpur Airport.
On this occasion, Minister Sardar Javed Ayub briefed the attendees on governmental efforts in the sectors of Wildlife and Fisheries. He stated, “The government of Azad Kashmir is committed to providing maximum opportunities for investment, and we will facilitate overseas Pakistanis in every possible way so they can fully participate in the development of their region.”
Prominent participants at the event included Raja Muhammad Riaz, Akhtar Hussain Pirzada, Sardar Ashfaq Khan, Sardar Iqbal Yousaf, Chaudhry Maroof Hussain, Raja Naseem, Maroof Hussain, Chaudhry Noor-ul-Hasan Gujjar, and Khawar Qureshi.
