Islamabad : The honour killings of a woman and man in Awaran in Balochistan has created furor at every level in Pakistan including stirring a wave of action at federal and government levels.
Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , on Monday sought report from the provincial government and ordered a speedy action against the accused saying ” All those involved in this heinous crime must be brought to the justice “.
After the prime minister ‘s advice Balochistan chief minister , Sarfraz Bugti, ordered to the provincial machinery not to spare anyone, no matter how powerful he is , and arrest all accused involved in this inhuman act without any delay.
He later spoke to the media persons in Quetta on the issue. He said his government is actively pursuing the killing of a man and woman in Awaran, Balochistan . He denied that the victims were wife and husband . He also clarified that those killed were married separately and had children ,but both were alleged of having illicit relations. Mr Bugti added that 11 suspects including a local Sardar, who allegedly presided over a Jurga and ordered killing of these two persons, have been arrested and they will be tried under relevant provision .
Meanwhile , Balochistan High Court (BHC) also sprang up in action in this case. The court has ordered to the Bugti government to appear before it on Tuesday.
Honouring killing of two persons in Awaran in Balochistan has shocked entire Pakistani nation. Every segment including the parliamentarians and civil society is protesting barbaric killing of two persons in Balochistan on the order of a local Jurga. This Jurga system is in place in tribal areas and Balochistan and Sindh. Sometime later such local Jurgas make decisions in the Punjab also.
