Peshawar: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in its executive review meeting, decided to close the NAB inquiry against former Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, Pervez Khattak, current Chief Secretary KP Shahab Ali Shah, and other key figures.
However, it was decided to continue investigations against some individuals.
Furthermore, NAB Peshawar has also dropped investigations against individuals against whom no substantial evidence was found.The NAB Peshawar has decided to close the alleged corruption case against Prime Minister’s Advisor Pervez Khattak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, and several other key figures. However, investigations will continue against some individuals.
After a detailed review in the Executive board meeting, the NAB Chairman, following consultations with legal experts, approved the closure of several cases while referring some cases for further action.
In a letter issued on March 13, 2025, NAB Peshawar notified the Director General of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) that investigations against Prime Minister’s Advisor Pervez Khattak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, former Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, and other key figures have been closed.
NAB has also ended investigations against individuals where no substantial evidence was available. These include Fayyaz Ahmed Khan, CEO of TransPeshawar, Muhammad Imran Khan, GM Operations of TransPeshawar, and others.
However, NAB Peshawar has referred the cases of Ahsan Rafiq, Chief Executive Officer of TIBL, and Mamoon-ur-Rashid, Non-Executive Director of TIBL, along with others, to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for further action. This is due to their role in providing guarantees from the Bank of West Indies to the PDA despite restrictions.
Investigations will continue against individuals accused of irregularities in awarding consultancy contracts and making excessive payments beyond the contract limits.
