Peshawar — Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, has said that the bravery, professionalism, and high morale of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police are its defining characteristics.Despite difficult circumstances, the force continues to stand as a solid barrier between the public and anti social elements, dedicated to maintaining peace and stability.He added that special attention is being given to the welfare of police personnel and the improvement of police station infrastructure across the province.
During a brief visit to Nowshera district, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed reviewed several ongoing projects aimed at improving the welfare of the force and the public.As part of the visit, he inaugurated the newly constructed Badarshi Police Station, which is equipped with modern facilities.Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by Regional Police Officer Mardan, Javad Qamar, District Police Officer Nowshera, Ahmed Shah, and other senior police officers.Member of the Provincial Assembly, Mian Muhammad Umar Kakakhel, was also present.A smartly turned out contingent of Nowshera Police presented a guard of honor to the IGP.
Following the inauguration, the IGP inspected various sections of the new police station, commending the arrangements made for security, staff accommodation, and the overall renovation of the premises.He also interacted with the deployed personnel, emphasizing their duty to serve the public with dedication and professionalism.As a gesture of commitment to a greener environment, the IGP planted a sapling in the station’s lawn.
Later, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed visited Nowshera Police Lines, where he paid homage at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial.He laid a floral wreath, offered Fateha for the souls of the martyrs, and prayed for their elevated ranks.The IGP also wrote his remarks in the visitors book, paying tribute to the fallen heroes.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police holds a distinguished place in Pakistan’s history due to its sacrifices and professional excellence.For decades, we have been confronting the challenge of terrorism, yet our force has always demonstrated courage and resilience, he remarked.He reaffirmed that upgrading police infrastructure and ensuring the welfare of personnel remain top priorities.Recent government initiatives have further boosted the morale of the force, and our police are now more determined than ever to fulfill their mission of peacekeeping.Our ultimate goal is to provide a safe, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan for all citizens, he concluded.
