Riyadh, Rana Azeem Saudi Arabia – A dignified ceremony marking Pakistan’s Independence Day was organized by Majlis-e-Pakistan in Riyadh, with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ahmed Farooq, attending as the chief guest.
The event was attended by Community Welfare Attaché Mr. Najam Saqib, President of Majlis-e-Pakistan Rana Abdul Rauf, Patron-in-Chief Syed Saqib Zubair, General Secretary Rana Umar Farooq, Rana Sarfraz, Sikandar Wardak, President of Youth Forum Muhammad Ibrahim Jutt, and a large number of Pakistani community members based in Saudi Arabia.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, followed by enthusiastic participation from the community who reaffirmed their commitment to the progress and prosperity of their homeland. Special tributes were paid to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their success in the Battle of Haq (Ma’raka-e-Haq) and their unwavering defense of national integrity.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Ahmed Farooq stated “Freedom is a divine blessing that can only be preserved through unity, sacrifice, and dedication. Overseas Pakistanis continue to make us proud by presenting a positive image of Pakistan globally through their talent, hard work, and patriotism.”
President Rana Abdul Rauf noted that the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia has always been actively engaged in promoting national unity and dignity. He emphasized that Majlis-e-Pakistan serves as a vital platform to highlight community concerns and celebrate national events with great enthusiasm.
Patron-in-Chief Syed Saqib Zubair reflected on the significance of Independence Day, calling it a moment for renewed commitment. He remarked:“Our love for Pakistan stems from its ideological foundation. Independence is not merely the possession of land, but the empowerment of thought, belief, and decision-making.”
During the event, Ambassador Ahmed Farooq and Attaché Najam Saqib were presented with honorary shields in recognition of their valuable services to the Pakistani community.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the peace, prosperity, and security of Pakistan.
