May 8,2024 : On the first anniversary of May 9 violent protests which were unleased by Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) to protest over arrest of its founding Chairman , Imran Khan , the army has given a clear and loud message to the perpetrators that no one will ever be allowed to repeat the same kind of violence to damage military installations of Pakistan .
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the May 9 event in his statement on Wednesday . He said the May 9 violence was planned to weaken Pakistan army institutions and destablise the country. Information minister , Atta Tarar told a presser here that terrors targeted state institutions in May 9 event to give benefit to the enemy of Pakistan. A day earlier , ISPR director general had held a 2-hour long press conference to convey the anguish to the planners , executors that May 9 will not be allowed again.
