Memon Welfare Society hosts reception for outgoing , incoming Consul General

JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia)  : Under the auspices of the Memon Welfare Society (MASA), a farewell reception was held in honor of Pakistan’s outgoing Consul General Khalid Majid, as well as a welcome ceremony for the newly appointed Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabani. The event took place at a local hotel and was attended by MASA officials, consulate officers, community members, and various social personalities.

Siraj Adamjee conducted the proceedings, welcoming all participants and presenting an overview of MASA’s mission and ongoing welfare services for the community. MASA President Waseem Abdul Razzaq presided over the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, outgoing Consul General Khalid Majid expressed his gratitude to MASA, stating that he was leaving Jeddah with love and cherished memories. He remarked that parting from the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah was difficult, but official responsibilities must come first. He urged the community to maintain mutual cooperation and added, “If ever I can be of service in Pakistan, I will always be available.” He expressed confidence that the new Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabani would serve the community even better.

Newly appointed Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabani, in his address, said that he had previously worked with Khalid Majid and that the organized systems left behind by him would make his responsibilities easier. He added that he considers himself part of the community, his doors would always remain open, and that resolving community issues and strengthening Pakistan–Saudi relations would be his top priorities.

At the conclusion of the event, MASA Vice President Khalid Sikandar thanked all the guests, while MASA President Waseem Abdul Razzaq presented souvenirs to the distinguished guests.
