Union leaders calls Mirpur Sakro anti encroachment operation as uneven

THATHA: The anti encroachment operation launched to get vacated officials residences in water board pump housing colouny in Mirpur Sakro, Dhabeji from illegal occupants remained ineffective here in Tuesday.
Assistant Commissioner, Sakro, Sajjad Abro, Deputy Supretendent Police, Ghulam Qadir Khaskhali, Encroachment officier , khalid Shahanshah, Zahud Qazi took part in the operation alongwith the staff of encroachment department for getting vacated official residences in Mirpur Sakro ,Dhabeji.
Hundreds of protesters resisted the operation and surrounded the operation staff and forced them to stop the operation unfinished.
AC Sakro Sajjad Abro told the media on this occasion that the operation to eject intruders from official residences was a part of provincewide anti encroachment drive which was launched on the direction of the Sindh High Court. He said intruders were illegally occupying 66 houses in water board pump housing colony and in today’s operation 8 houses were got vacated and remaining occupied houses in the colony will be got vacated soon. He said today operation could not be completed due to less number of anti encroachment staff.
Later, Mashuq Leghari and Rustum Katiar of water board pump union, termed the anti encroachment operation in Mirpur Sakro ” half hearted attempt” and demanded even handed operation in Mirpur Sakro. They alleged Mirpur Sakro anti encroachment operation was based on pick and chose as the administration got vacated houses from the poor and ignored those who are powerful. They appealed to Deputy Commissioner Thatha and head of anti en croachment administration to stop action against the poor families lest they would join the protest.
