NA 133 Lahore: PMLN wins, PPP makes good comeback

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawwz (PML-N) remained victorious in NA 133 contest. Its candidate , Shaista Pervez Malik , bagged 46811 votes. Aslam Gill of Pakistan People Party (PPP) got 32313 votes. Although, PPP lost the by -election, but it made a great cimeback by giving tough time to the PMLN candidate. The political punduts took the PPP comeback in NA 133 election as a rebirth of PPP in Punjab.
In his statement, PMLN president, Shahbaz Sharif , congratuled Shaista Pervez Malik and all party workers over win of NA 133 election. Hamza Shahbaz called the win of PMLN in this by election as a good omen. He said PMLN always remained victorious in by -elections in Punjab. He claimed that PMLN was the most popular party of Pakistan.
PMLN had always been a winner in this constituency. However, Sunday’s by,-election showed reduction in its voting ratio.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) called low turn over in this by-election as its great achievemnet. Information minister, Fawad Chaudhary, in a statement said the polling boths remained empty as PTI was not in the contest. Hasan Khawar, spokesman of Punjab government said low turnover was indicative of PTI popularity.
