Islamabad: A meeting of the Standing Committee on Information Technology & Telecommunication was held today under the Chairmanship of Syed Amin ul Haq, MNA in Committee Room of Ministry of IT&T in Islamabad.
The Committee discussed “The Digital Nation Pakistan Bill, 2024” (Government Bill) in detail. After detailed deliberation, the various aspects of the Bill were reviewed, and after considering the amendments presented before the Committee, they were endorsed. A vote was conducted for the approval of the Bill, in which 17 members participated, out of which 11 members’ votes were in favor and 6 members’ votes against it. Therefore, with a majority vote, “The Digital Nation Pakistan Bill 2024” was passed by the Committee.
The following MNAs namely Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Malik, Mr. Ahmad Atteeq Anwar, Mr. Ammar Ahmad Khan Leghari, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Syed Ali Qasim Gillani, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Ms. Sharmila Shiba Faruqui Hashaam, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Mr. Ahmad Saleem Siddiqui, Mr. Pullain, Mr. Gohar Ali Khan, Mr. Omer Ayub Khan, Mr. Sher Ali Arbab, Mr. Awais Haider Jakhar, Mr. Umair Khan Niazi, Rai Haider Ali Khan, and Mr. Adil Khan Bazai, besides the officials of the Ministry, attended the meeting.
