ISLAMABAD: July 2, 2021 NAB has outrightly rejecting the allegations of Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Friday clarified that prob is under process against Saeed Ghani by NAB Karachi after due process of law.
In a statement issued here on Friday, NAB said it already had
clarified that Karachi bureau was conducting inquiry against Haleem Adil Sheikh after authorising complaint verification.
Last day, NAB had already condemned Saeed Ghani’s attempts of influencing the corruption cases under trial against Syed Khursheed Shah and Ejaz Jakhrani in accountability court of Sukkur. NAB had also condemned Saeed Ghani’s attempt to benefit the accused persons and decided to review the statement of Saeed Ghani in the light of clause 31 (a) of NAB Ordinance. NAB had also advice Saeed Ghani to thoroughly peruse NAB Ordinance which had already been thoroughly reviewed by the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan in Asfandyar Wali case.
In response to the allegations of Saeed Ghani regarding alleged favours to Haleem Adil Sheikh, it may be said that the inquiry against Haleem Adil Sheikh continuing with the authorisation of complaint verification against him by the competent authority.
It merits mentioning here that Saeed Ghani has again alleged that NAB has transferred the case of Haleem Adil Sheikh from anti corruption Established Sindh to NAB Karachi which is totally baseless, misleading and against the facts.
Factual position is that the case of Haleem Adil Sheikh was transferred from Anti corruption Sindh to Senior Member, Board of Revenue, Sindh on July 16,2020, which is part of the record. No case of Haleem Adil Sheikh was transferred to NAB Karachi by Anti Corruption Establishment Sindh.
NAB Karachi after receiving complaint and approval from competent authority not only completed complaint verification and inquiry is still continuing against Mr Sheikh. NAB has decided to send legal notice to Saeed Ghani for misleading the public and trying to tarnish the image of NAB.
The excellent performance of NAB Rawalpindi included the direct and indirect recovery of Rs 33 billion from the culprits involved in fake accounts case.The bureau has filed 14 corruption references in fake accounts case which are under trial.In fake accounts cases some 20 culprits has already inked Plea Bargain. NAB Sukkur has recovered Rs 19 billion directly and indirectly from corrupt elements in wheat scam case. Similarly NAB Karachi has distributed Rs 15 billion among the affectees of Fazaia Housing Scheme.
Elimination of corruption is top most priority of NAB. NAB is vigorously pursuing the policy of accountability for all. NAB is apex national anti corruption institute of Pakistan which has no affiliation with any political party, group and individual and is only affiliation with the state of Pakistan.Since inception the bureau has recovered record Rs 814 billion from corrupt elements and deposited into national exchequer.in last three years the bureau has recovered Rs 533 billion from corrupt elements and deposited into national exchequer.NAB and Pakistan can last together but NAB and corruption can’t go together.The bureau will continue performing its duties without caring about any pressure.The NAB detractors should utilise their energies in defending their cases instead wasting their time in criticising the bureau.Reputed national and international organisations including Transparency International Pakistan, PILDAT and Mishaal Pakistan which is honour for NAB.
