Naqvi Urges PTI to Avoid Bloodshed, Warns Against Escalating Violence

ISLAMABAD, November 26, 2024: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed regret over the actions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), describing their behavior as a source of embarrassment for the country.

Speaking to the media during a visit to D-Chowk in Islamabad, Naqvi reiterated that the government does not wish to see any loss of life and urged PTI leaders to avoid escalating the situation into violence.

Naqvi also condemned the use of tear gas shells by PTI protestors against law enforcement agencies, claiming the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had provided them with the shells.

He emphasized that the responsibility for managing the situation now lies with the police.

Earlier, Naqvi toured the Blue Area in Islamabad, from Shaheed-e-Millat Chowk to D-Chowk, to review security arrangements. During the visit, he met with security personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC), Rangers, Islamabad Police, and Sindh Police, offering encouragement amid the ongoing clashes. Naqvi praised their dedication and urged them to face the miscreants with bravery, reminding them to adhere to the rule of law.

The security forces, who were also seen chanting “Pakistan Zindabad,” were commended by Naqvi for their commitment to maintaining order and peace in the capital.

He also directed law enforcement agencies to take appropriate legal action against those responsible for the unrest.
