Nawaz ‘s protocol triggers legal debate in Pakistan

Strong opinion against and in favour of PMLN supremo

ISLAMABAD – Oct 12 : The protocol that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo , Mian Nawaz Sharif , got at Pakistan High Commission in London and ex-prime minister ‘s possible return to Pakistan has triggered a broader legal debate in his favour and against in Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif, who has announced to end his four-year self exile and return to Pakistan on October 21, had visited Pakistan’s High Commission in London on Thursday to get travel documents to fly to Pakistan .

Pakistan ‘s High Commissioner to United Kingdom (UK) extended him warm welcome on his arrival at the High Commission.

Aitzaz Ahsan , a senior lawyer of Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) and Pakistan People Party (PPP) leader on Thursday told a private TV channel that Nawaz Sharif is a convicted and no court in Pakistan can give him any relief . He said Nawaz Sharif will have to go to jail on his return. Aitzaz ‘s legal opinion is of paramount importance as he is one of the leading lawyers of Pakistan.

Faisal Wavda, an outspoken critic of Nawaz Sharif , showed anguish for Pakistan’s High Commissioner to UK for according unparalleled protocol to convicted Nawaz Sharif .

He said ” Minimum High Commissioner in UK should be removed from his position for awarding protocol to a convict. Nawaz Sharif ‘s return to Pakistan on October 21 is a last hope for PMLN to muster support from the masses to give some reasonable performance in next general elections.

His party leaders and legal team is hoping to get relief from the court for Nawaz on his return to Pakistan on October 21.

Ex prime minister and PMLN president , Shahbaz Sharif , called Nawaz Sharif as a saviour of Pakistan. In his statement issued on Thursday Shahbaz Sharif said Nawaz Sharif is coming to Pakistan to put Pakistan back on track for fast track progress and economic recovery.
