Nawaz Sharif pleads for more stay in London

ISLAMABAD: Three- time prime minister of Pakistan and Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo, Mian Nawaz Sharif, is facing difficult situation in United Kingdom (UK) as British Home Department has turned down his request for extension in stay there.

The news of rejection of Nawaz Sharif’s request for more stay in UK broke here by the government sources late Thursday.

The private TV channels started to flash the news as it was really a major development for them.

Soon after appearing the news in the national main stream electronic media , PMLN wiezards rushed to TV networks to confirm the news that British Home Department has rejected the party supremo’s request for extension in stay in UK.

Nawaz Sharif , a man once the most powerful prime minister of this country, is helpless in UK. He is neither getting extension for further stay in that country nor have any other respectful option to travel to any other destination of his choice.

PML N spokesperson, Maryam Orangzeb, told the electronic media outlets that Nawaz Sharif’s legal team has filed appeal against British Home Department’s decision.

TV channels quoated Maryam Orangzeb as saying that Nawaz Sharif can stay in UK until his doctors permit him to leave from UK.

Hussain Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif’s elder son, also spoke to Pakistani media from London on this development. He said ” We will appeal against British Home Department’s decision”.

The legal experts who appeared on different TV channels argued that Nawaz Sharif ‘s chances for securing extension through appeal are very bleak.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government is very jubliant over rejection of Nawaz Sharif’s request for more stay in UK.

Information minister, Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, told to private TV channels that Nawaz Sharif went to London on fake medical reports and now when his request for more stay in that country has been rejected he (Nawaz Sharif) should come back and complete his remaining term in jail awarded by the court in the corruption case.

Prime minister’s advisor on Accountability , Shahzad Akbar, told to a TV anchor that Pakistan will seek custody of Nawaz Sharif if after extradition he goes to some other country rather than returning to Pakistan.

Interior minister, Shaikh Rashid Ahmad, also spoke to TV channels on the issue. He said the government of Pakistan will issue travelling documents in 24 hours if Nawaz Sharif submit formal request for it.
