Jeddah ( Saudi Arabia ) : Pakistan’s new Consul General in Jeddah, Syed Mustafa Rabbani, is arriving in Jeddah on November 30 where he will assume his duties. It is worth noting that Mustafa Rabbani is one of the hardworking officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. He has held important positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After graduating from the University of Peshawar in 1999, Mustafa Rabbani was initially associated with a private law firm in Peshawar before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Later, he served as Research Coordinator in the Faculty of Law, University of Peshawar from 2001-2002. Mustafa Rabbani joined the Civil Service of Pakistan in 2002, and after completing his training at the Civil Service Academy, Lahore, served as Assistant Accountant General, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in January 2005, where he started his diplomatic career as Assistant Director (Finance) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to his high performance. He later worked in multilateral affairs and the United Nations system as Assistant Director (United Nations Division). Mustafa Rabbani’s first posting abroad was with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran, Iran, where he served as Assistant Director (International Relations) from 2007 to 2009. From 2012 to 2016, he served as First Secretary at the Pakistani High Commission in London.
On his return to Islamabad, he served as Deputy Chief of Protocol Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (2016-2017), Director Foreign Secretary’s Office (2017-2018) and Director Foreign Minister’s Office (2018-2021). Prior to his arrival in Jeddah, he was serving as Deputy Head of Mission and Minister (Political and Consular Affairs) in Doha, Qatar from 2021 to 2025. Pakistanis residing in Jeddah, Mecca, Yanbu, Qassim, Taif, Medina and the Western Province have expressed happiness over the appointment of a hardworking diplomat and hope that he will continue the positive work of his predecessor, the Consul General, and make Pakistanis proud. The Consul General will play his role in promoting Saudi trade and giving a positive identity to Pakistani culture in Saudi Arabia. The Pakistani community, as always, will support the Consul General in positive work.
