New Zealand defeat Pakistan in second ODI to level series

KARACHI : Jan 11,2023: New Zealand beat Pakistan easily by 79 runs in the second ODI to level the series 1-1.
In the second one-day match, the Pakistani team could score 182 runs against target of 262 runs.
In the second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat.

New Zealand openers failed to provide a good start and its first wicket fell for 2 runs.

Dion Conway and Kiwi captain Kane Williamson put on an excellent batting display for the second wicket and put on a partnership of 181 runs.

Williamson and Conway also completed their half-centuries.

Opener Conway completed a century.

Naseem Shah gave Pakistan second wicket when New Zealand score was 183 runs.

Naseem Shah took the second wicket to end Conway’s innings of 101 runs, Conway’s innings included 13 fours and a six.

Mohammad Nawaz did not give new batsman Daryl Mitchell much chance to play and dismissed him after scoring 5 runs of 7 balls.

New Zealand’s score was 198 runs when Mohammad Nawaz got dangerous batsman Tom Latham lbw, he scored only 2 runs.

Kiwi captain Kane Williamson batted responsibly but could score 85 runs from 100 balls and Mohammad Nawaz blew his wickets.

Mohammad Nawaz also dismissed New Zealand’s sixth batsman in the 37th over, this time Glenn Phillips became his wicket for 3 runs.

The experienced all-rounder of Pakistan team took 4 wickets in his quota of 10 overs.

Agha Salman supported the captain for a while by scoring 25 runs off 22 balls and was run out after bringing the score to 124 runs.

Mohammad Nawaz was bowled by Bracewell for 142, he scored only 3 runs.

Captain Babar Azam stood at one end and completed his half-century but no batsman could support him from the other end.

Osama Mir scored 12 runs off 9 balls with the help of a four and a six and returned to the pavilion after being caught by Tom Latham off the ball of Tim Southee.

Mohammad Wasim scored 10 runs off 13 balls, which included a four, but was run out by the combination of Williamson and Centener.

Babar Azam scored 79 runs off 114 balls with the help of 8 fours and a six. Wicketkeeper Latham blew the stumps off Ash Sodhi’s ball, at that time Pakistan’s score was 182 runs.

Earlier, in the first match of the series, Pakistan took a 0-1 lead by defeating New Zealand by 6 wickets thanks to the responsible performance of the batsmen after Naseem Shah’s brilliant bowling.
